Generally blown head gaskets will blow the coolant out of the radiator and into the overflow bottle, it is more than what the cooling system will draw back in when cooling down, so will leave the radiator low.

Webb24 nov. 2024 · Turned out it had water in the radiator, and it appeared that that's all that was ever used in the coolant system. The whole system had calcium scaling in it. Ended up installing a new radiator and proper coolant/anti-freeze. I still see that sand-like substance in the system every time I open the rad-cap. And that was 11 years ago!
