Webb27 mars 2024 · Flaounes is a traditional Cyprus cheese-filled pastry uses ground machlepi (a Greek aromatic spice made from the seeds of the St Lucie cherry) in the dough, giving a hint of almond flavour. The “foukos”, (filling) is made with flaouna cheese, haloumi cheese, sultanas and garnished with sesame seeds. This is one of our best traditional recipes.
