WebJan 16, 2016 · When and if the hubs start leaking then I tell people to use the gear oil till they have to be resealed. The fact that 80-90 is heavier, is a very popular misconception. The 80-90w suggests it's heavier. It's not. Gear oil is not tested on the same scale as motor oil. Do some research, and some pour tests, and you will see it for yourself. There is no reason you need to run SUD fluid in the front axle since it***8217;s all gears and bearings. In my opinion, gear oil is a better choice. Thanks. WebApr 27, 2024 · If you have a loader on the tractor, try raising the front axle a few inches off the ground and see if you can move the front axle back and forth, if not, use a jack of some type. I changed engine oil and filter, HST filter/cleaned screen, refilled with Super UDT2, both fuel filters, air filter, and drain/fill the front gearbox (coolant change to follow). I did the front gearbox last and as expected, the gear oil was going in slowly.

(15ftlbs is the spec I found) Any flexing of the rear mounting bracket causes the pivot bolt head to slide in and out of the front mounting bracket. Hopefully this helps and my axle leak is gone.
