WebMay 7, 2013 · The Harbor Freight 2HP Dust Collector has a 10" impeller. By most accounts this is too small for a 2HP system leaving usable HP off the table. I'd like to know if anyone has successfully done the upgrade and if they did, what part# did they use. I've done a lot of searching, but haven't seen any part numbers of successful upgrades. WebApr 20, 2024 · One of the individuals who purchased the plans and built the dust collector modified it to include a plenum box, and reported positive results. In the configuration I built it in, I would say it has an equivalent noise level to the stock Harbor Freight system. WebApr 5, 2008 · I had the HF dust collector for a little over a year. Got it on sale for $159.00. The first thing I did was change out both bags with 1 micron felt bags. The bags were also a little bigger, with the top one being a good 5" taller.
