WebJan 29, 2024 · You would need to switch the monitors input display to be the GT 120 at start up to see the boot screen, and then switch to the HDMI input to use the RX 580 afterwards because well it's a better card than the GT 120 so use that one when you get to the desktop. WebI was using a R9 280x that I flashed to get the boot screen for years but Mojave disables hardware acceleration, so I eventually installed open core and upgraded to a RX 580. It was super easy and has been very reliable. In fact, it works better than my old card.
