Adjust the nut on the linkage—lengthen it to raise the stopper or shorten it to let it drop lower. Push the assembly back in and replace the cover plate. WebIt seemed to be leaking through the flange and the new faucet I bought had a replacement drain included so I figured I'd change it all out. I tried to remove the nut on the underside but everyone was completely rusted out (40 year old house)...after awhile I ended up dremeling the flange apart and pulling the whole mess out through the bottom.
